Ardardan Farm

The project strategy was to augment the existing successful farm shop and restaurant business. The assets within and outside the site boundary provided an opportunity to diversify the activities and demographics of visitors to the attraction. The proximity to the shoreline created a unique environment which the new site arrangement exploits. Equally the usual distraction of the coastal railway has been integrated as part of the visitor experience at this location - making the passing of any train an event for both the farm visitors and the passengers. The existing mono-hub has been expanded to create a dual hub allowing the retail/food + beverage and family farm based experiences the ability to operate at the same time. The visitor vehicle and pedestrian circulation has been reorganised in order to unify and disaggregate these dual operations efficiently.
